OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY

Fox TV StationsFOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content.JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX Chicago has an immediate full-time opening for a Sports Anchor/Reporter. The ideal candidate will bring professionalism and personality both on and off the air. Candidates must possess strong presentation skills, an outstanding work ethic, deep knowledge of sports, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment. Social media mastery and a passion for innovation are essential.

This role requires contributing sports content across multiple platforms, including on-air broadcasts, digital, social media, and emerging formats such as podcasting and other non-traditional storytelling approaches. The ideal candidate is comfortable experimenting with new ways to engage audiences and expand the reach of sports coverage.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of sports reporting experience
  • Strong on-air presence and storytelling ability
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the sports department and newsroom teams
  • Experience creating content across broadcast, digital, and social platforms
  • Interest or experience in podcasting and non-traditional reporting formats
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism or a related field

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and bring to life sports interview shows, including live events and digital content, from conception to completion.
  • Be the voice of the Chicago sports fan, drive fan engagement - emails, tweets, phone calls.
  • Develop and produce engaging sports content that steps beyond conventional coverage.
  • Ability to produce, shoot, and curate social media posts.

Job Duties Snapshot:

  • Plan and create engaging Live Sports Shows for studio and on-location settings, including research, rundown generation, and graphics pre-building.
  • Produce sports segments for newscasts and longer-format programs.
  • Perform pre-production, production, and post-production tasks, including both writing and editing duties.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in live news and show production.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for creative writing and strong narrative development.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro editing software is necessary.
  • Knowledge of tools like Riverside and Streamyard strongly preferred.
  • Attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Avid interest and broad knowledge of sports, notably Chicago sports, staying updated on developments and news.
