The Civil Engineering Team Leader is a position with primary focus on the management of SW+ personnel and clients. The ideal candidate has demonstrated outstanding proficiency in civil engineering, project management, leadership, client contact skills and has established a reputation throughout the land development industry. This position is accountable for the overall success of the civil engineering team, and all assigned civil engineering projects within the team. This includes responsibility for the team's organization, morale, development, and profitability. They ensure that all SW+ processes are being adopted and followed by the team. This position will be expected to mentor the Civil Project Managers and demonstrate a strong sense of leadership amongst employees and peers both internally to SW+ and externally to the public.

Requirements


Essential Job Functions

  • Monitor and assist Project Managers in construction admin responsibilities of all assigned projects throughout the entire course of construction (pre-con thru closeout) 
  • Monitor and intervene as necessary on the coordination with Clients, Contractors, and government agencies to provide solutions to field issues, review change orders and pay apps, evaluate as-builts, and coordinate project closeout
  • Facilitate Project Managers have regular access to suggested solutions to problem solving and troubleshooting issues arising in the field
  • Review of all proposals/contracts (scope of work, establish appropriate fees and evaluate risks for projects and assess company liability related to contract terms and conditions)
  • Monitor project tracking worksheets to manage current workloads and performance status of all assigned projects across the civil project team
  • Assignment of projects to Project Managers on the team appropriately based on resources and workload capacity
  • Review of all team's invoices for client billing
  • Assist project managers with due diligence research on assigned projects with the ability to identify potential risk factors to a project


Education: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college/university required


Experience: 8-15 years' experience, previous Civil Engineering with a Civil Engineering design firm or construction related experience highly desirable
