  • Plan, coordinate and schedule teams, leagues, tournaments and clinics
  • Recruit and supervise coaches and officials
  • Organize and conduct coaches' trainings and meetings
  • Develop and distribute sports rules, guidelines and handbooks.
  • Organize and distribute team schedules and uniforms.
  • Transport and set up equipment for games and practices.
  • Regularly visits off-site program locations.
  • Monitor and purchase necessary sporting equipment.
  • Observe and assess situations within programs for safety, security and to detect adherence to policies. Communicates with and develops actions plans with participants, parents/guardians, school partners, etc. as needed.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in programs. Implements continuous program improvement processes and establishes new program activities as needed to better serve community members, YMCA members and program participants.
  • Directly carry out supervisory responsibilities to effectively manage personnel in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; auditing and appraising performance; approving and reporting payroll; conducting staff meetings; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
