Sports analytics is a field of applied statistics that uses past performance data to provide a competitive advantage to a team or individual player. By using data, an analyst can make suggestions on strategies for a given game, monitor the performance of a player, and provide quick analysis of potentially record-setting activities. Sports analytics focuses on two areas: on-field and off-field. The on-field analysis helps improve the tactics and fitness of players, while the off-field analysis focuses on the business and merchandising aspect of sports. Sports analytics is also used in sports gambling to help casinos and similar companies decide on which odds to offer to customers.

About Crimson Brand Partners
Crimson Brand Partners is a newly formed partnership with the University of Utah designed to modernize how the University continues to build its brand. Crimson Brand Partners will manage commercial operations across Utah Athletics and the broader university - including events at stadiums and arenas, branding, licensing, sponsorships, ticketing, and digital media.
Job Summary
The University of Utah Athletics is seeking a creative, high-energy Social Coordinator to lead the day-to-day social media strategy and content for Utah Men's Basketball. This role's primary responsibility is elevating the Utes Men's Basketball brand through compelling storytelling, real-time engagement, and platform-optimized content that connects fans to the program, student-athletes, and coaches.
You will own content ideation, production, and execution across all major social channels while collaborating closely with the coaching staff, athletics communications, digital media, and marketing teams. This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced, high-visibility college basketball environment that demands creativity, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive on game days. While Men's Basketball is the core focus, the Social Coordinator will also support other University of Utah Athletics teams and department-wide initiatives as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media content strategy and calendar for Utah Men's Basketball across Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
  • Create, edit, and publish high-quality content including short- and long-form video, photography, graphics, stories, and live content that highlights student-athletes, coaches, game action, culture, and behind-the-scenes moments.
  • Design and produce engaging graphics that support social media, digital campaigns, and department-wide content needs.
  • Manage all pregame, in-game, and postgame social media coverage, ensuring timely, on-brand, and engaging posts that maximize fan excitement and home-court energy.
  • Drive real-time fan engagement, community management, and rapid response across platforms.
  • Collaborate with coaching staff, athletics communications, digital production, marketing, and ticketing to align content with program goals, and broader athletics initiatives.
  • Provide support to other University of Utah Athletics teams and department-wide digital efforts as needed.
  • Track performance using analytics tools, report key metrics (engagement, reach, growth, conversions), and continuously optimize content and strategy.
  • Stay ahead of social media trends, platform algorithm changes, emerging formats, and best practices in college and professional sports content.
  • Maintain strict adherence to NCAA, Big 12, University of Utah, and brand guidelines, including NIL and copyright standards.
  • Work flexible hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional travel for games and events.

Qualifications
Required:
  • 2+ years of professional experience in social media management, content creation, or digital marketing (college athletics, professional sports, or entertainment preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to create engaging social content and manage brand accounts with measurable growth in audience and engagement.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to write in an authentic, platform-native voice.
  • Proficiency in video editing, photo editing, and graphic design tools (Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, CapCut, or similar).
  • Deep understanding of major social platforms, their audiences, and content best practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel as required by the basketball schedule.
  • Passion for college basketball and the University of Utah / Utah Utes brand.

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, Sports Management, or a related field.
  • Direct experience managing social media for a college athletics program or professional sports team (basketball experience strongly preferred).
  • Hands-on experience producing live game-day content and rapid-turnaround social assets.
  • Knowledge of current trends in sports content, short-form video, and fan engagement strategies.
  • Experience collaborating with coaches and athletic department staff.

Benefits and Perks
Crimson Brand Partners offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes excellent medical, dental, and vision coverage; a 401(k) retirement plan with a generous 4% employer match; PTO (10 days of paid vacation annually); five paid sick days; 11 paid holidays; voluntary life, AD&D, and short- and long-term disability coverage; an Employee Assistance Program (EAP); and a variety of voluntary supplemental benefits, including accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, and legal coverage.
