Sports agents are professionals who represent athletes in negotiating contracts, securing endorsements, and managing their careers. They act as intermediaries between the athlete and sports teams, sponsors, or other organizations, ensuring that their clients get the best possible deals and opportunities. Sports agents also provide guidance on financial planning, legal matters, and public relations to help athletes succeed both on and off the field. Their work often involves networking, contract law, and a deep understanding of the sports industry.

What does a sports agent do?

The job of a sports agent is to negotiate contracts on behalf of a client. Agents primarily negotiate endorsement deals, but they may also oversee public relations and assess new talent. A sports agent typically works with a larger firm that can leverage its size and connections during negotiations.
