The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) is a non-profit professional association serving over 4,000 members to support, educate, and unite coaches of women's and girl's basketball at all levels including collegiate, scholastic, and the WBNBA. 
Position Overview: Reporting to the Corporate Vice President, Taymar’s Director, Sponsorship Sales position will be responsible for the generation of sponsorship revenue for the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association and its platforms.  Duties include generating revenue through traditional corporate sponsorship assets and multi-media inventory.  Specific corporate sponsorship responsibilities include renewal and management of existing accounts, new business development, achievement of sales goals, activation and fulfillment, and consistent relationship building with WBCA stakeholders. 
Responsibilities: 
Operate as the Sponsorship Sales expert and primary sponsorship revenue-generator for the WBCA, overseeing all aspects of strategy and execution.
 
  • Execute all aspects of the typical Sponsorship sales process: prospecting, building/presenting sales presentations, creating/negotiating contracts, upselling/renewing current partners, sponsor year-end recaps, and servicing of all corporate partner agreements, etc.
  • Implementation of strategies and approaches to the corporate partnership program, including  initiatives designed to complement membership growth and ticket sales for WBCA Showcase, WBCA Convention, and other events.
  • Actively collaborate with the WBCA leadership team and board of directors to stay aligned with overarching strategies, while implementing holistic corporate partnership packages and agreements, which include new and innovative methods of promoting the association and its membership.
  • Oversee activation of all corporate sponsorship accounts from commitment through execution, ensuring fulfillment and activation of all obligations.
  • Actively prospect and network to build the relationships that drive successful partnerships.
  • Work in-person at the WBCA offices, as well as scheduling and attending in-person meetings with clients and prospects.
  • Must be self-starter and able to work a flexible schedule around WBCA events.  Some travel is required.

Qualifications: 
 
  • Bachelor’s Degree  
  • 3+ years’ sponsorship sales experience preferred, additional ticket sales experience is a bonus.
  • Strong grasp of the sports sponsorship landscape, including traditional and non-traditional inventory and assets
  • Comfort with typical business development activities and ability to build relationships quickly. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a part of a team to solve problems effectively and independently. 
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, integrity, communication skills, and desire & ability to learn in a fast paced, highly competitive industry.
