About the Role

The Specialist - Sponsorships, US is an integral part of Latham's Events, Sponsorships, and Travel (EST) team. This role will be responsible for coordinating a high volume of conference and trade organization sponsorships, while also supporting global sponsorship initiatives as needed. This role will be located in either our Chicago, New York, or Houston office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.ย 

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Proactively coordinating various aspects of the sponsorship lifecycle, including vetting the opportunity, negotiating benefits package, planning meetings, checklists, budget tracking, expense processing, vendor management, data management, and post-sponsorship analysis
  • Working with key stakeholders to define objectives and thoughtfully map out sponsorship participation accordingly
  • Attending key sponsorships to evaluate branding opportunities and/or manage setup
  • Attending department meetings and specified practice or industry group meetings to gain a working knowledge of subject matter basics
  • Continuously staying abreast of sponsorship team best practices as well as market and industry trends
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retainsย 

We'd love to hear from you if you:

  • Possess knowledge of event management and CRM systems
  • Display well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to interact with people at all organizational levels
  • Demonstrate the ability to take initiative and work both independently and in a team environment with a customer-service focus

And have:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in an events, partnership or sponsorship management, conference organization, business development, or marketing role in a professional services environment
