Senior Software Engineer - Workday Adaptive Planning & Enterprise Applications

Are you an experienced software engineer with expertise in Workday Adaptive Planning and enterprise application development? We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help design and deliver scalable planning solutions, modern integrations, and high-performance applications that power enterprise financial operations. This is an opportunity to work with modern cloud technologies, AI-enabled solutions, and cross-functional teams to build platforms that drive meaningful business outcomes.
About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead the design, configuration, and implementation of Workday Adaptive Planning solutions while developing enterprise applications and integrations that support forecasting, financial planning, and business operations. You'll collaborate closely with product managers, architects, and engineering teams to build scalable, reliable, and maintainable software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, configuration, and deployment of Workday Adaptive Planning models, sheets, dashboards, and reporting solutions for enterprise forecasting and planning.
  • Develop custom integrations between Workday Adaptive Planning and enterprise applications using Java, Python, Custom Cloud Loader, and RESTful APIs.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications supporting enterprise business platforms.
  • Analyze user stories, estimate development effort, and actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Partner with Product Management and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, maintainable solutions that align with business priorities and project timelines.
  • Produce technical documentation and provide technical leadership by assisting with task planning and engineering coordination.
  • Develop high-performance applications using Java, Angular, and Node.js.
  • Mentor software engineers by providing technical guidance, code reviews, and best practices.
  • Recommend improvements to engineering processes, development standards, and application architecture.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues while supporting distributed, production-scale enterprise systems.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies to continuously improve platform capabilities and engineering practices.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 5+ years of experience developing highly scalable, production-grade enterprise applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Workday Adaptive Planning, including model development, reporting, dashboards, and systems integration.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, enterprise integrations, data transformation, and reporting solutions.
  • Experience developing and deploying AI-powered solutions using Large Language Models (LLMs) to automate business processes or improve enterprise outcomes.
  • Experience across the full software development lifecycle, including architecture, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to communicate technical designs and architectural decisions across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and promoting engineering best practices.
  • Experience working within Agile software development environments.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of unit testing, CI/CD pipelines, and software quality practices.
  • Experience building, managing, and supporting distributed production systems.
