Job Description

Location: Philadelphia to NYC - This role offers flexibility for daily work location, but candidates must reside in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or New York and be within a reasonable travel distance of our Philadelphia office, as regular in-person collaboration is required.

Join our DevOps/SRE team as a key contributor responsible for building secure CI/CD pipelines, supporting application lifecycles, and driving automation across our cloud environments. This role blends hands-on engineering with mentorship and occasional sprint leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Platform & Automation

  • Design, build, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using modern tooling.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using IaC (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi).
  • Improve deployment, packaging, monitoring, and observability processes.

Security & Cloud Operations

  • Embed security into infrastructure, pipelines, and application delivery.
  • Enforce compliance, IAM policies, vulnerability scanning, and cloud security best practices.
  • Manage and optimize AWS environments, including cost control.

Reliability & Support

  • Troubleshoot production issues and support on-call rotations.
  • Contribute to incident response, runbook improvement, and SLA adherence.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for proactive issue identification.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Participate in Agile events and SRE sprints.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support planning and estimation efforts.
  • Engage in architecture and strategy discussions to improve delivery and reliability
Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 4+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering roles 
  • Strong experience with:
    • CI/CD Tools: AWS Codepipeline, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, or Travis
    • Containers: Docker (Kubernetes a plus)
    • IaC & Automation: Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Pulumi
    • Cloud: AWS services such as ECS, EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, CloudFront
    • Version Control: Git/GitHub
    • Scripting: Python (require), Bash
    • Vulnerability Scanning: AWS Inspector, Tenable Nessus
    • Secrets & Access Management: HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, Delinea Secret Server
    • Static/Dynamic Code & Pipeline Security: SonarQube, Veracode, Qualys, GitHub Code Security
    • Compliance & Cloud Security Posture: AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, CrowdStrike, Splunk
  • Proven knowledge of:
    • Security and compliance in cloud environments
    • Observability (monitoring, logging, alerting)
    • Linux systems administration
    • Networking fundamentals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
