Job description

Job Summary: Working as an integral part of the supportive services team, the Spiritual Care Coordinator oversees spiritual care services and programming within KCC. The Spiritual Care Coordinator is also responsible for the provision of spiritual care services to patients, their families, and staff, including conducting spiritual assessments and providing spiritual and religious activities regardless of patients' religious affiliation.
Responsibilities:
  1. Responds to spiritual care consultations following established guidelines.
  2. Assesses, plans, and implements appropriate spiritual care interventions of oncology patients and their families.
  3. Contacts the patient's spiritual advisor if requested.
  4. Facilitates family meetings to assist with coping skills as needed.
  5. Participates in the 24-hour on-call system for family support services.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Theology, Masters in Theology or Masters of Divinity from an accredited Theological school or its equivalent preferred.
  • Six months experience in spiritual counseling in a hospital setting.
  • Previous experience with oncology patients and families is preferred.
