Job description

Role and Responsibilities
  • Operate press brake to complete orders in a timely manner
  • Study blueprints and specifications to understand technical requirements
  • Set up CNC press brake to project specifications
  • Ensure proper positioning and alignment of metal inside of press brake
  • Monitor the bending process
  • Measure and inspect the finished sheet metal to ensure it matches specifications and/or blueprint
  • Troubleshooting and addressing problems that arise during the pressing process
  • Perform routing maintenance on the press brake
  • Setup appropriate dies for project specifications
  • Comply with all health and safety standards in the fabrication shop
  • Assist with spiral fittings and spiral insulation as needed
  • Provide the best quality and productive work without constant reminder.
  • Communicate with management, superintendent.
  • Check to ensure that each job order is accurate and complete.
  • Maintain, clean, and organize work area
  • Update order status daily
  • Assist with general work activities per the direction of the shop Supervisor to complete the activities.
  • Support the mechanic, foremen, and superintendent to complete the project in a timely manner.
  • Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the company from time to time.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating a CNC press brake
  • In-depth understanding of the parts of a press brake and how the machine works
  • Computer skills to operate CNC software
  • Ability to remain upright and perform repetitive movements throughout most of a work shift
  • Arithmetic skills to perform measurements using various measurement tools
  • Familiarity with blueprints and the terminology used in technical specification sheets
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule-days, and some weekends.
  • Present yourself in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to work with variety of tools, follow directions and be able to read and write.

  • Required Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Must successfully pass a background check & drug test.
  • Knowledge of HVAC or Construction preferred

Work Environment: Exposure to high noise intensity level, exposure to moving mechanical parts, exposure to forklift traffic, climate-controlled shop!
  • Physical Demands: Occasional sitting, frequent stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and climbing. Constant standing, walking, reaching, and gripping. Vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to talk and hear. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. (maximum solo lift) and constant lifting to 25 lbs., placing this position in the very heavy physical demand classification (PDC).
  • Material Handling: Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. and constant lifting to 25 lbs., placing this position in the very heavy physical demand classification (PDC).
