Spiff information

What is a spiff?

A Spiff job typically refers to a short-term incentive or commission-based role where employees, usually in sales, earn bonuses for meeting specific targets or selling certain products. These incentives are often used to motivate sales teams to focus on particular items or achieve higher performance. Spiff jobs can be temporary or ongoing, depending on the company's goals and compensation structure.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the spiff position?

To thrive as a Spiff (Sales Performance Incentive Fund Administrator), you need strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid foundation in sales operations or finance, typically supported by relevant business experience or a degree. Familiarity with CRM platforms, incentive management systems, and proficiency in spreadsheets and data analysis tools is essential. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills make someone stand out in this position. These qualities are crucial to accurately manage incentive programs, ensure timely and precise payouts, and effectively coordinate with sales teams to drive motivation and performance.

What are some common challenges faced by spiff administrators, and how can they be managed?

Spiff administrators often face challenges such as managing complex incentive structures, tracking performance data across different teams, and ensuring accurate, timely payments. Handling discrepancies or disputes over payouts requires strong attention to detail and effective communication. Staying updated on policy changes and coordinating closely with sales managers and finance teams is vital for smooth operations. With these challenges come opportunities for growth, as gaining expertise in incentive management processes and cross-functional collaboration can open doors to advanced roles in sales operations or compensation planning.

Job description

Tired of the corporate runaround, the private-equity buyouts, and feeling like just another number?

My Georgia Plumber is hiring Residential and Light Commercial Service Plumbers who are ready to take their career to the next level. If you’ve got the skill, the pride, and the drive to do the job right — we’ve got the truck, the team, and the top-tier support you’ve been looking for.

We’re not looking for clock-punchers. We’re looking for professionals who want to be part of something solid, stable, and growing fast.

What You’ll Actually Be Doing:

  • Running a fully-stocked truck with everything you need to diagnose and fix residential plumbing problems
  • Tackling water heater installs (tank and tankless), gas lines, slab repairs, urinal repairs, and fixture repairs/replacements
  • Providing honest, straightforward options and excellent customer service
  • Keeping your truck, paperwork, and job sites clean, safe, and professional
  • Working closely with dispatch and office staff that actually has your back
  • Helping us raise the bar — in quality, professionalism, and team culture

What You Bring:

  • A Georgia Journeyman or Master License (or ability to get one)
  • 3+ years’ experience in service plumbing — not just new construction
  • Solid skills in diagnostics, repipes, water heaters, gas piping, and customer service
  • A clean driving record and current driver's license
  • Ability to pass drug screens and background checks
  • Physical ability to lift 70+ lbs, climb ladders, and crawl under a house without complaining
  • A team mindset, a clean appearance, and pride in doing the job right

What You’ll Get:

  • Top Pay: $26–$40/hr to start (based on experience & licensing)
  • Clear Bonus Program: hit your goals, earn transparent performance-based bonuses — no fine print
  • SPIFF Program: extra cash for selling upgrades (water heaters, recirc pumps, leak detection, etc.)
  • Helper Support: access to a helper when the job requires it — and dedicated helpers for top-producing techs
  • Career Path: proven training program + licensing/CEU support → move up in pay and responsibility fast
  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • 40 hours PTO after probationary period, continually accruing
  • 40 hours PTO on each anniversary.
  • Unlimited unpaid time off (with notice)
  • Company iPad – paperless invoicing, dispatch, training
  • Uniforms provided at no cost
  • Training and CEU/licensing support
  • Referral bonus – bring good people, get paid
  • Annual company parties and family events
