Summary of Position

As a runner, your primary responsibility is to ensure the efficient delivery of food and beverages to guests in a timely manner. You work closely with servers and kitchen staff to coordinate orders, retrieve items from the kitchen, and deliver them to guests' tables. Attention to detail is crucial as you verify order accuracy and presentation before serving. You may assist with food preparation, garnishing dishes, and maintaining cleanliness in the dining area. Your role is essential in enhancing the overall dining experience for guests by providing prompt and attentive service. Strong communication and teamwork skills are key to effectively liaising between front-of-house and back-of-house staff. Your dedication to guest satisfaction contribute to the success of the establishment.

This position pays $20/hour

Job Requirements

  • Understand the mission, vision, and goals of the hotel.
  • Must be able to prioritize and work efficiently with limited supervision.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task efficiently.
  • Must be able to speak and understand and communicate the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Must possess excellent communication, follow up, and organizational skills.
  • Must have the ability to push, pull, bend, squat, and lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis.
  • Safely utilize PPE requirements as needed for duty assigned and with use of required tools and equipment.
  • Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up.
  • Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment.
  • Follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest’s service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assists the service staff in the service of food for the guest.
  • Ensure service is more efficient and timelier and to guarantee the best possible dining experience for the guest.
  • Completes opening, closing, and side work.
  • Sets up food carts and stations for service.
  • Communicates with and supports all staff to better serve the guests.
  • Deliver food and beverage to guests in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Expo build tickets on food and kitchen line.
  • Monitor each guest's dining experience.
  • Pre-set tables for dining and clear tables for next course.
  • Be knowledgeable of all menu items with ingredients with relation to common dietary restrictions.
  • Maintain a clean dining area at all times.
  • Ensure all equipment is in operation order and all supplies are up to par. 
  • Report equipment that needs repair or supplies that need to be ordered.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas.
  • Follow 4 Keys service standards, standard operation procedures, and safety standards.
  • Follow safety and security procedures.
  • Work cohesively with co-workers and all departments as part of a team.
  • Follow all appropriate policies and procedures while constantly striving to improve standards of operations.
  • Adhere to attendance and reliability standards.
  • Follow all additional duties as assigned by management.
