Job Description:

The Activities position at Danforth Bay is responsible for maintaining sports courts and beach areas, running boat rental operations, and facilitating daily and weekly activities. Team members must be creative, outgoing, and organized while being safety conscience and customer centric.


Qualifications:

  • Basic computer skills.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to work outdoors during a variety of weather conditions, as well as being comfortable in the water and the woods.
  • Reach/squat/bend/carry/push/pull/lift to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Dependable and adheres to scheduled shifts.
  • Problem-solving skills, excellent communication and customer service skills required with staff and guests.
  • Strong attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain guest and employee confidentiality.
  • Strong work ethic, commitment and a positive attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Math aptitude and cash handling ability.
  • Explain activity and use of proper techniques and safety procedures; assist guests and answer questions.

Responsibilities:

  • Be knowledgeable of all planned activities and instructions for participation.
  • Be responsible for set-up, tear-down and clean-up of activity.
  • Greeting and interacting with guests while encouraging participation.
  • Work with administrative staff to communicate changes in classes, events, and activities.
  • Duties include, but are not limited to, guiding moderate hikes and kayak trips, lifting, and moving kayaks and canoes, moving supplies and emceeing events such as cornhole and bingo.
