Job description

Ready to build meaningful partnerships and drive strategic growth for complex enterprise clients? As a Strategic Major Account Manager at Spectrum, you will develop tailored business plans, position Spectrum Business as a trusted advisor for voice, video and data solutions, and guide long-term account strategies. Your consultative approach and relationship-building skills will help clients achieve their objectives and advance Spectrum’s reputation for excellence. 


How You Will Make an Impact 

  • Achieve or exceed monthly and annual new revenue and renewal quotas through strategic account management and consultative sales 
  • Conduct proactive needs analyses and execute account strategies in collaboration with the Sales Manager 
  • Monitor assigned accounts to identify revenue growth opportunities and improve service levels 
  • Present tailored proposals and facilitate sales presentations to address client business challenges 
  • Broaden Spectrum Business’s reach by cultivating relationships and securing contract renewals with new and existing contacts 
  • Qualify new leads, coordinate site surveys and submit return on investment analyses to sales management 
  • Maintain accurate sales databases to track client information and sales activities 
  • Collaborate with Sales Engineering, Sales Support and Marketing teams to enhance the client experience 
  • Attend sales meetings and training sessions to improve sales skills and stay informed on market trends 
  • Ensure compliance with Spectrum policies to mitigate risks and support account success 
     

Working Conditions 

  • Office-based role with regular travel required to client locations within assigned footprint 

What You Will Bring to Spectrum 

Required Qualifications 

Education 

  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited organization (GED) 

Experience 

  • 3+ years of sales experience exceeding revenue goals 

Skills 

  • Read, write, speak and understand English 
  • Demonstrated history of consistently exceeding sales quotas 
  • Strong understanding of computer networking, LAN and WAN technologies, high-capacity and fiber-connected networks 
  • Proven product and technical knowledge 
  • Effective relationship building, networking, negotiation and closing skills 
  • Quick learner able to apply new knowledge and partner with support resources for account growth 
  • Valid driver’s license, safe driving record and willingness to travel as needed 
     

Preferred Qualifications 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience 

Experience 

  • 3+ years of sales experience exceeding revenue goals selling data, voice and video solutions in the telecommunications B2B industry  

Skills 

  • In-depth knowledge of CRM systems such as Salesforce 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
