Job description

Position Title: BC Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist

Location: Atlanta, GA

Laurel Heights Hospital provides residential treatment programs for children and adolescents (ages 7 and up) who present with severe and complex psychiatric and behavioral difficulties that impact multiple areas of functioning.

Adolescent patients reside in separate treatment units designated by age, gender, and treatment needs. This ensures that programming will meet our residents’ specific developmental needs and individualized treatment issues. Through our Discovery and Declaration Programs, Laurel Heights Hospital provides highly specialized residential treatment for boys ages 7–17 who have been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, and who demonstrate severe behavioral difficulties and psychiatric illnesses.

Position Overview:

  • Employment Type: 1099 or Hospital Employed
  • Schedule / Hours: PRN weekends, weekdays, holidays, vacation coverages
  • Patient Volume: will vary by unit and current census
  • Location: Atlanta, GA
  • Practice Setting: Inpatient Child/Adolescent ages 6-17, Residential Treatment (adolescent male and adolescent female units)
  • Support / Care Team: Multidisciplinary with BH Techs, BH RNs, Psychiatric NPs, Social Workers and Therapists
  • EMR / Technology: Cerner
  • Growth & Development: Leadership and advancement opportunities within ever-growing organization.

Responsibilities

  • Your role will encompass admission evaluations and assessments, managing treatment teams, overseeing discharge processes, and performing related administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with physicians, NPs, and support staff.
  • Document care using Cerner

Compensation

  • Competitive PRN rates or 1099 options

Qualifications

  • Board Certified in General Psychiatry, Board Certified/Board Eligible in Child/Adolescent Psychiatry preferred. 
  • Must have interest and experience with autism spectrum disorders and treating ages 6 - 17 years old for cross coverage and call. 
  • Active or eligible GA license
  • Active DEA
