SPECIMEN DELIVERY
LOCATION: Ann Arbor, MI
POSITION TYPE: Full-time

Are you looking for a dependable and meaningful role in a fast-paced medical environment? Join the University of Michigan's Michigan Medicine team as a Specimen Transporter. This position is crucial to the safe and efficient transport of specimens, supporting timely and accurate diagnostic testing, while contributing to a team-oriented, supportive work environment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Specimen Transporter, you will help ensure specimens are handled safely and efficiently across the hospital and laboratory systems. Responsibilities include:
  • Transport specimens from various laboratories and units
  • Organize and distribute specimens accurately
  • Scan barcoded specimens, reconcile discrepancies, and ensure proper delivery
  • Provide excellent customer service to medical staff, laboratory staff, patients, and families
  • Follow all safety protocols and practice safe work habits
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental goals and objectives
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate documentation
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS:
