Title: Warehouse Associate


Responsible managing the logistics of receiving, processing, shipping, and inventory controls in accordance with purchase orders and policies. This role ensures shipping schedules are met with precise attention to detail to guarantee timely delivery and prevent losses. Additionally, the Warehouse Associate will support the shipping department and freight forwarder to meet customer expectations, maintaining records and coordinating logistics for product shipment.


Responsibilities:

· Use barcode scanners and related inventory systems to manage product flow

· Operate computerized weight count scales and label printers

· Pack and label products for shipment according to detailed instructions

· Load and unload trucks and break down large lots into smaller

· Utilize warehouse tools and machinery, adhering to safety and quality standards

· Work with warehouse management system computer interface to manage inventory records

· Perform inventory control tasks, including cycle counts and quality checks

· Review and fulfill open customer orders to meet shipping schedules

· Assemble shipping documentation and prepare boxes and skids pallets with appropriate labels

· Notify management of issues with overages, shortages and product quality

· Establish and maintain working relationships with customers and sales representatives, addressing questions and concerns

· Execute warehouse-related initiatives to improve processes and productivity

· Handle special shipments and expedite freight as needed

· Assist in annual inventory cycle counts and manage inventory levels through stock transfers

· Read and understand transaction record of inventory movement to locate orders

· Perform all work in accordance with written standard operating procedures and work instructions

· Perform inventory controls and maintain high-quality standards for audits

· Ensure accurate communication, follow through and documentation of Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) projects and processes using specific project management tools

· Execute a wide array of warehouse-related initiatives to help continuously improve processes.

· Perform special handling of all “HOT” freight items

· Assist other team members in maintaining general cleanliness of the warehouse

· Other duties as assigned by management


Qualifications:

· Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods

· Demonstrate organizational skills, including strong detail orientation

· Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

· Adhere to safety practices

· Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment

· Basic math and computer skills

· Ability to stand at a workstation for long periods of time

· Adherence to safety practices

· Knowledge of building materials and inventory control practices

· Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment and independently

· Professional and courteous attitude


Education, Experience, Licenses and Certifications:

· High School Diploma or two years + similar experience.

· Minimum 1 yr of Experience in warehouse, inventory and/or distribution environment

· Current forklift/safety operator license/certification; preferred
