Overview:

INTECON is seeking a Special Reconnaissance Instructor that delivers advanced training in surveillance, reconnaissance, and operational preparation of the environment to Air Force Special Operations Forces personnel. As the largest instructor category on this contract, this role is fundamental to building SOF capabilities in information gathering, target development, and tactical operations. The instructor conducts physically demanding training across diverse environments and prepares operators for complex reconnaissance missions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver classroom and field instruction on surveillance and reconnaissance techniques and operational preparation of the environment (OPE)
  • Instruct students on small unit tactics, land navigation, and tactical vehicle/convoy operations
  • Conduct training on close quarters battle (CQB) techniques and room clearing procedures
  • Handle, demonstrate, and provide instruction on munitions, small arms, heavy weapons, crew-served weapons, and night vision devices
  • Demonstrate weapons fire and ensure safe training operations during live-fire exercises
  • Fly infiltration/exfiltration with students into and out of field training exercises via AFSOC or contracted fixed/rotary wing aircraft
  • Perform maritime duties and open-water swimming to support amphibious operations training
  • Instruct students on radio communications and reporting procedures for reconnaissance operations
  • Evaluate student performance and provide feedback in accordance with STTS program of instruction standards
  • Participate in full mission profile events and special operations mission planning exercises
Qualifications:
  • Special Tactics operator AND graduate of USAF Special Reconnaissance Course, OR five (5) years' current Special Reconnaissance experience in SOF sister service
  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Ability to read, understand, speak, and write English fluently
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of computers including Internet, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, and Windows
  • Physical ability to perform rigorous field work including extended outdoor training in non-climate-controlled environments
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required base access credentials
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience as an SR instructor or evaluator in military training environment
  • Familiarity with STTS program of instruction curriculum
  • Prior experience with AFSOC or joint SOF training programs
  • Background in intelligence collection and target development
  • Experience with demolitions and breach operations
  • Training or operational experience in personnel recovery operations
