Job Description:

Operations Analyst (Msn Cmd Exercises)

Ensure the safety and security of our nation as an Operations Analyst (Msn Cmd Exercises) at GDIT. You'll apply the latest technology and provide operational support to deliver actionable intelligence for the Intelligence Community and for the Operational Force. Here, your work will have meaning and impact as you deliver your best every day.
At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As an Operations Analyst (Msn Cmd Exercises) you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on an Operations Analyst (Msn Cmd Exercises) joining our team to assist in the development and facilitation of a new ARSOF Captains Career Course (CCC) culmination event. He or she will develop, refine, and update realistic exercise products and vignettes, and will role-play operational and tactical level Special Operations Force units during exercises. In addition to the CCC, many of our exercises will be Commander's Assessments designed to assist a unit Commander to train and assess his/her staff, and other exercises will be External Evaluations (EXEVALs) conducted as part of unit pre-deployment activities.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT:

  • Develop and maintain tactical vignettes and injects for exercises to replicate SOF activities conducted by tactical elements at the Company level and below.

  • Integrate and synchronize Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) and Operations, Activities, and Investments (OAIs) into exercise scenarios.

  • Mentor trainees on SOF tactical capabilities, processes, and employment.

  • Role play the execution of tactical level activities during the CCC events and in Mission Readiness Exercises (MRXs).

  • Brief leadership and exercise players on SOF tactical capabilities, exercise execution, and lessons learned.

  • Provides military subject matter expertise to the SOMTC program.

  • Participates with other members of the Mission Command Exercise Branch team in exercise vignette development to address relevant staff Mission Essential Tasks (METs).

  • Reviews "Lessons Learned" from previous exercises to identify and resolve training shortfalls in order to assist newly formed Special Operations Task Force (SOTF), Joint Special Operations Task Force (JSOTF), and Special Operations Joint Task Force (SOJTF) staffs to efficiently execute all staff Battle Drills.

  • Works with fellow contractor employees who are former Special Forces, Civil Affairs, PSYOP, USAF CCT/TACP personnel and sister service veterans to identify and develop cross-functional team injects and vignettes.

  • A Senior Operations SME/Operations Analyst Senior will ensure that exercise scenarios encompass the following activities: Cyber-Space-SOF planning and activities, Multi-Domain Operations (MDO), Special Forces Operations, Intelligence, Psychological Operations, Civil Affairs, Logistics, Fires, Insurgency Forces, Future Operations, and include interaction with other Government agencies and non-government agencies.

  • Senior Operations SMEs/Operations Analyst Senior's ensure successful completion of these activities in a training environment to assure Commanders that units are prepared to fully execute their assigned missions upon deployment.

  • A Senior Operations SME/Operations Analyst Senior will maintain familiarity with and will adhere to current Army and Joint doctrine and training strategies throughout the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC).

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Associate's Degree is required.

  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of combined related military service, as well contractor experience as an MCIS Instructor, Training Supervisor or Training Manager.

  • Required Experience: Assignment to U.S. Army Special Operations Forces (Special Forces, Military Information Support Operations, Civil Affairs, Ranger Regiment, Special Operations Aviation, Special Mission units) or assignment to one of the following: Military Intelligence, Logistics Corps, or Field Artillery units. Equivalent assignments within other military branches do apply, as does experience gained as a contractor assigned to the SOMTC as a Digital Trainer (MCIS), Training Specialist, or Training Manager.

  • Required Technical Skills: Graduate of U.S. Army Special Forces Qualifying Course (Officer) 18A, Warrant Officer (180A), Noncommissioned Officer (18-series) Military Occupation Specialties and graduate of a U.S. military officer's intermediate course or Senior Service College, or Special Forces Warrant Officer Advanced Course, or from one of the following U.S. military Noncommissioned Officer Education System courses: First Sergeant Course or Sergeants Major Course. Equivalent technical experience within other military branches and gained as a contractor working at the SOMTC in training soldiers, airmen, and sailors does apply.

  • Security Clearance Level: Secret

  • Required Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), problem solving, and mission planning.

  • Preferred Skills: Two years of experience researching, planning, preparing, coordinating, and executing Mission Readiness Exercises (MRXs) or in developing and executing Mission Command systems training at the SOMTC.

  • Location: On Customer Site at the Special Operations Mission Training Center (SOMTC), Fort Bragg, NC.
