Job description

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
As a Cocktail Server, you will be responsible for excellent customer service by delivering food and alcoholic beverages throughout the casino ensuring an exceptional guest experience.

Position: Hourly, Full-Time
Location: Gold Strike Casino

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
   High school diploma or equivalent.
   Six (6) months of experience as a cocktail and/or food server in a similar environment.
   Experience working in a similar resort setting, preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
   Knowledge of beverages on the menu, including characteristics of wine and champagne by the glass, major wines, liquor brands, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, terminology, and garnishes.
   Highly motivated and energetic personality.
   Able to take initiative and exhibit flexibility.
   Excellent customer service skills as well as interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
   Able to lead and mentor a team.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position may require strenuous physical activities and exposure to pipe, cigar, and/or cigarette smoking. An ability to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours, weekends, and holidays may also be required.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
   Take orders and serve food and drinks efficiently and accurately in the work area as applicable.
   Place orders, garnish, and serve cocktails to guests.
   Maintain complete knowledge of menu items, liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections available.
   Knowledge of hotel services, features, local attractions, and activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
   Perform opening and closing duties based upon shift assignment including folding/stacking cocktail napkins, stock swizzle sticks, straws, matches, line cocktail trays, stock glassware, restock supply cabinet, inspect the cleanliness and condition of assigned station and service areas; rectify any deficiencies.
   Resolve guest complaints within the scope of authority; otherwise, refer the matter to management, and/or notify the supervisor and/or Security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft.
   Perform other job-related duties as requested.
