Special Education RSP (Resource Specialist Program) Teachers are educators who work with students who have mild to moderate learning disabilities. They provide specialized instruction and support, often in small groups or one-on-one settings, to help students succeed in general education classrooms. RSP Teachers collaborate with general education teachers, develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and monitor students’ progress to ensure their educational needs are met. Their role is critical in helping students build academic skills, confidence, and independence within the school environment.

How does a special education RSP teacher typically collaborate with general education teachers to support student success?

Special Education RSP (Resource Specialist Program) Teachers work closely with general education teachers by co-planning lessons, sharing strategies for differentiation, and providing targeted support for students with IEPs. This collaboration ensures each student receives consistent support across all learning environments, promoting academic and social growth.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a special education RSP teacher, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Special Education RSP Teacher, you need a specialized education degree, state certification in special education, and knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs).
