Job description

At RocSci, our team is committed to providing high quality instruction every day for our students.  Our emphasis on strong academics & social-emotional learning within a joyful, caring learning environment are some of the keys to our success. 

Job Description for the 2024-2025 school year

  • We follow an ICOT model, with one special education teacher per grade level. 
  • Work with a Lead Teacher to best support the needs of all students with IEPs.
  • We have 3 key learning blocks:  1) Literacy Centers; 2) Whole class math (Eureka); and 3) Whole class ELA (Wit and Wisdom).  
  • We have a shared lesson planning policy so each Lead Teacher creates the weekly plans and materials for the grade.  Lead Teachers also receive two sets of materials that s/he will internalize and make any necessary adjustments for his/her specific students.  The special education teachers then receive these and make the necessary adjustments. 
  • Work with teachers to ensure a safe and positive school culture while implementing our social-emotional learning practices and implementing our restorative practices.
  • Build and foster relationships with families to ensure that every student is supported in and out of school.  
  • Demonstrates the ability to use data to drive instruction and to ensure individual students receive needed supports.

  • If a candidate is not SPED certified, must be willing to take the steps necessary to become certified.  RocSci assists in this process.
