Job description

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting middle school students as a Special Education Teacher. Provide meaningful instruction and guidance for a caseload of 16 learners aged 12 to 14, within a collaborative environment. This role is based at a single school site and offers the chance to make a direct impact during the academic year, from August 12, 2026, through June 1, 2027.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist K-12 Mild/Moderate License or Alternative Intervention Specialist License
  • Demonstrated experience providing individualized instruction and support to middle school students
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
  • Excellent organizational skills for maintaining documentation and progress monitoring
  • Effective communicator with students, parents, and interdepartmental staff
  • Comfortable collaborating and co-planning with 7th and 8th grade Math and English teachers

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver services in accordance with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Collaborate on lesson planning with general education Math and English teachers
  • Take lead in writing, attending, and conducting IEP meetings for your caseload
  • Carefully track and document services provided, communications with parents, and student progress
  • Ensure all IEPs are monitored regularly and compliance requirements are met within set deadlines
  • Carry out teacher duties as assigned to foster a supportive and inclusive school culture

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
  • Interview slots available August 10th - August 14th, and August 17th & 18th
