Job Description:
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Trimble Operator to join our team and support our field operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing accurate layout services using Trimble Robotic Total Stations (RTS), ensuring alignment between design intent and field execution.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Prepare and manage layout files for use in Trimble RTS field equipment.
  • Coordinate with the project team to verify accuracy of models and layout files.
  • Perform layout services for concrete and finishes scopes, including walls, embeds, blockouts, partitions, ceilings, and fixtures.
  • Conduct on-site visits to verify conditions, control points, and field requirements.
  • Communicate frequently with project team members, including engineers, architects, and superintendents.
  • Update and maintain point files to reflect as-built conditions or design changes.
  • Collaborate with general contractors and project stakeholders to align layout needs with project schedules.
  • Serve as a liaison between field and office teams regarding layout, model updates, and field coordination.
  • Support quality control by ensuring all layout is performed with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Perform other layout- and coordination-related duties as assigned.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and participate in job hazard analyses (JHAs) and Morning Action Plans (MAPs)
  • Maintain equipment logs, project notes, and documentation
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities
  • 1-3 years of field experience with Trimble RTS equipment in a construction environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents including architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
  • Proficient with Trimble software, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with layout procedures for both structural and interior finish scopes.
  • Strong understanding of basic algebra, geometry, and spatial relationships.
  • Able to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and on active construction sites
  • Technology driven, Self-motivated and a problem solver.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with project teams and supervisors
  • Experience in commercial or civil construction preferred

Education and Experience
  • 1-3 years of field experience with Trimble RTS equipment in a construction environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents including architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
  • Proficient with Trimble software, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with layout procedures for both structural and interior finish scopes.
  • Strong understanding of basic algebra, geometry, and spatial relationships.
  • Preferred 3-5 years of commercial concrete construction experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
