Job description

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Land Survey CAD Drafter / Technician who understands the land surveying business from the ground up. In this role, you will not just be drawing lines—you will be transforming raw field notes, GPS data, and public records into highly precise, legally compliant survey plats and engineering support documents. The ideal candidate possesses strong spatial reasoning, a deep understanding of survey mathematics, and industry-specific software expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft Comprehensive Survey Plats: Prepare high-quality, accurate Boundary Surveys, Topographic Surveys, and ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys.

  • As-Built Deliverables: Create detailed utility and infrastructure drawings, including Water, Sewer, Paving, and Drainage As-builts.

  • Certificates: Prepare precise Elevation Certificates and Tie Beam Certificates in compliance with local municipal codes and FEMA standards.

  • Data Processing: Download, review, and post-process raw field data (GPS, Total Station, and data collectors), performing QA/QC to resolve any data discrepancies before drafting.

  • Public Records Research: Research legal descriptions, deeds, historical maps, and land titles to establish accurate property boundaries.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience: 2–5+ years of professional drafting experience specifically within the Land Surveying or Civil Engineering fields.

  • Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D or Carlson Software is highly preferred (experience with survey-specific layering, surfaces, and digital terrain modeling).

  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of legal land descriptions, survey mathematics, geometry, and South Florida building/zoning codes.

  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional precision and organizational skills; ability to identify errors between field notes and digital layouts.

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; an Associate degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or CAD Drafting is a plus.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary based on experience.

  • Opportunities for professional growth and mentorship under experienced survey professionals.

  • A stable, family-oriented, and growth-minded work environment.
