Job description

Overview
  • Tier One Technologies is looking for a Data Analyst for our direct US Government client.
  • This part-time (10-20 hours a week) hybrid position will be located in Arlington, VA.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • SELECTED CANDIDATES WITHOUT REQUIRED CLEARANCE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION TO RECEIVE IT.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data ingestion pipelines to onboard structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data from batch and streaming sources (e.g., APIs, databases, flat files, message queues) into the Azure/Databricks environment.
  • Work with unstructured or structured data and converting those data sets using a variety of analyses such as optimization, simulation, classical and spatial statistics, and/or programming languages.
  • Write programming codes, such as DAX and data Mash-up(M) for data manipulation, sorting, summarizing, and reporting.
  • Perform analysis of data for Extraction, Transformation, and Load (ETL) strategies, pattern recognition, and application of analytical tools.
  • Review, analyze, and modify existing products including coding, debugging, testing, and documenting.
  • Provide guidance to coworkers on business and technical issues affecting projects, such as data access, data quality, storage capacity, and analytic tools and software.
  • Troubleshoot and provide support on existing projects or application efforts.
  • Ensure that quality/security guidelines are followed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience and skill writing coding languages (such as SQL, Python, R, and Java Scripts).
  • 3+ years of experience working with Microsoft Power Platform (including Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps) and other business intelligence applications.
  • 1+ year of experience working with AWS or Azure services such as Databricks, Data Factory, and Data Lake.
  • Strong knowledge of ETL strategies, pattern recognition, and application of analytical tools.
  • Advanced degrees in Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
  • Ability to pass drug screening, criminal history, and credit checks.
  • Must have resided in the US for the last 5 years.
  • Must not have traveled outside the US for a combined total of 6 months or more in the last 5 years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members.)
