Job description

Job Title: Administrative Assistant (Spanish Speaking)
Location: The Dalles, OR (reporting to the Pendleton Administrator)
Position Type: Part-Time (with potential to transition to Full-Time)
Pay: $22-24/hr based on skill level and experience. Paid bi-weekly
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and bilingual (English/Spanish) Administrative Assistant to join our team. Based out of our office in The Dalles, you will provide critical remote and local support to our Administrator located in Pendleton. This part-time position offers the opportunity to grow into a full-time role for a dedicated professional passionate about team coordination and community relations.
About Almost Family: Founded in 1984, Almost Family provides support to the elderly and intellectually and/or developmentally disabled (IDD). Our mission is to help our clients achieve and prolong their independence through providing care that feels like family.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with recruitment efforts, applicant tracking, and general hiring processes.
  • Facilitate staff onboarding and initial training coordination.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for client and family communications, utilizing bilingual skills to ensure clear and empathetic engagement.
  • Manage scheduling, calendar coordination, and appointment tracking.
  • Support community engagement initiatives and represent the organization in local outreach efforts.
  • Perform data entry, file organization, and other administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (both written and verbal) is required.
  • Previous experience in an administrative, clerical, or customer service role.
  • 1+ year of I/DD or In Home Care experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for communicating effectively with clients, families, and internal staff.
  • Proficiency in basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
  • Ability to work independently in The Dalles while collaborating seamlessly with the Pendleton leadership team.
