Job description

Job Details:
SUMMARY:
The Interpreter will facilitate effective communication between two parties that do not speak the same language by converting one spoken language to another. Interpreting services include but are not limited to Employment, Training & Orientation, Meetings, Human Resources, Health Services and other operational activities as assigned. This position is held to a strict code of confidentiality. The interpreter must be willing to work in all environments of the facility.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to pass an written and verbal assessment with a 75%
Education:
  • High school degree or equivalent is preferred but not required.

Experience:
  • Applicants shall have fluency in selected language(s), Spanish, Haitian Creole, other than and including English, and be able to obtain a minimum of Level 3 Language Certification, as prescribed in Tyson Foods software.
  • One year of interpreter experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Current Team Members already certified under Tyson interpreter program or other language certification acquired through an academic organization will be preferred.

Communication Skills:
  • Must have strong verbal communication skills in their dominant language and the English language. Must agree to sign a confidentiality agreement.

Special Skills:
  • Must be able to work independently with little to no supervision, while at the same time be a member of team to coordinate and provide support as needed.
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong organizational, decision making, and follow-up skills. Basic computer and typing skills preferred.
  • The Interpreter is expected to use dictionaries and glossaries for reference in order to communicate a clear and concise message.
