Job description

York Space Systems was founded to radically improve spacecraft affordability and reliability, transforming, and enabling next- generation space mission operations worldwide. Today, York is one of the most innovative aerospace companies, specializing in end-to-end customer solutions and the rapid production of spacecraft platforms. York's complete Space Segment Solution includes spacecraft production, payload integration, system integration & test, launch services, ground segment services, and mission operations, enabling customers to leverage York's existing technology solutions to get to orbit rapidly and responsively. We're looking to expand our team across the board.
The Proposals & Systems Architecture Engineer role is responsible for supporting the Director of Systems Architecture & Proposals with technical proposal efforts and developing current company capabilities and product roadmaps. Key duties include evaluating customer specifications against internal and supplier capabilities, developing solutions with suppliers, and authoring proposal content. The candidate will work with Director of Systems Architecture to define system architectures, manage studies and technical trades, and develop clear, compelling technical documentation and proposal volumes.
The role involves coordinating closely with internal stakeholders to ensure proposed solutions are technically sound, compliant, and achievable. Duties also include identifying and mitigating technical and execution risks, integrating new product developments into future proposals, and improving process standardization across programs. Strong communication, and coordination skills are essential, as is experience across the full proposal lifecycle for government and commercial customers.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in review of potential RFIs/ ROMs/RFPs.
  • Evaluate customer specifications against York's and key suppliers' capabilities.
  • Support definition of a proposed system architecture - vehicle class, payload architecture, major suppliers, etc.
  • Support feasibility assessments, technical trades, system design, and creation of product specifications.
  • Cross functional coordination between the BD, CTO, SVE, and SWE teams.
  • Support conversations, define interfaces, and obtain sufficient information to feed York's proposal.
  • Obtain inputs and reviews from key SMEs and stakeholders, ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Produce complete and compelling technical writing and supporting proposal products.

Qualifications:
  • BS in Systems Engineering or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a system engineer or similar broad technical role.
  • 3+ years of experience desired, working product development and proposal efforts for Federal Civilian, DoD, and commercial customers.
  • Project leadership experience desired (such as lead systems engineer, product lead, or team lead).
  • Experience in Customer (internal and external) and Supplier communication.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills: verbal, written, and presentation.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance desired.
