Our Ballston Spa location is looking to find experienced, hard-working individuals to join our team of Overnight Guards to support the company facilities and operations. The schedule for this shift is:

A combination of weekday and weekend nights (hours are from 5:00 pm - 5:00 am).

Summary

Support the company facilities and operations, including inspections of property and buildings, this is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week operation.

Safety

  • Identify Safety Issues then address or contact Building Maintenance/Loss Prevention Manager
  • During a snow/ice event; maintain the area(s) around Guard Shack, Gates and Corporate Building and maintain a path to generator
  • Observe operation of propane station to ensure safe dispensing
  • Observe arriving/departing personnel for security and safety reasons
  • Observe departing Company trucks/vehicles for safety issues

Security

  • Periodically patrol buildings and grounds (night & special circumstances during the day)
  • Record data such as unusual occurrences, property damage or malfunctioning equipment (night)
  • Sign out/in transfer trucks going to other Branches
  • Log rail cars in/out
  • Monitor video surveillance system- obtain still photos/video footage as needed
  • Identify trespassers and address as needed. Notifies authorities of suspicious or criminal acts.
  • Address parking issues as needed
  • Check in/out vendor trucks/vehicles and give direction as needed

Emergencies

  • Handle onsite emergencies and provide traffic control when necessary
  • Handle emergency phone calls from Branches and notify the appropriate Departments/Management
  • Notify EMS/Police/Fire in case of emergencies
  • Take alarm calls from Mahoney and address as needed
  • Assist with incidents when needed

General

  • Mentor fellow Employees as needed for their continued improvement
  • Spot check inventory of items when needed
  • Assist customers in seasonal area when needed and you are not by yourself
  • Check customer propane tanks for expiration and condition when you are not by yourself
  • Give directions to "Lost" customers and vendors
  • Complete assigned projects
