Department OverviewAt Motorola Solutions, everything starts with safety. Our Emergency Call Handling team builds and connects critical command center technologies to help protect people, property, and places. By leading Next Generation 911 (NG911) deployments, you will enable the essential collaboration between public safety agencies, defense, and enterprises that is vital to "Solving for safer".
Job Description

We believe that everything starts with our people, empowering every Motorolan to do their best work to help protect what matters most. As an Emergency Call Handling Project Manager, you will manage the full lifecycle of complex software and system integrations for critical public safety infrastructure. You will bring together customer-facing delivery, financial oversight, and mission-critical reliability to ensure call centers and emergency responders can operate seamlessly when it matters most. Qualified candidates may qualify with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Integration & Planning:

  • Manage the complete project lifecycle from initiation to formal handover, applying established project management methodologies

  • Establish Master Project Plans and schedules using modern project management software to track milestones and baseline progress

  • Coordinate internal cross-functional teams to align operational workflows and business objectives

Financial & Scope Governance:

  • Oversee project budgets including capital and labor expenditures while monitoring revenue and margin health

  • Lead formal financial reviews with leadership to keep deployment costs within approved parameters

  • Oversee change control processes and manage smooth transitions from legacy infrastructure to NG911 systems

Risk & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Maintain Risk Registers and actionable mitigation plans to proactively resolve potential deployment obstacles

  • Serve as the central point of contact for external customers, subcontractors, and enterprise partners

  • Facilitate project kick-offs, executive steering committee meetings, and regular status reviews across all stakeholders

Job Requirements:

Technical Expertise:

  • Project Management Tools expertise using MS Project, Smartsheets, cloud-based collaboration software (Google Workspace), or similar applications

  • Methodologies proficiency applying PMBOK standards, with PMP or CAPM certifications

  • Public Safety Communications expertise across NG911 solutions, emergency call handling software, or dispatch infrastructure

  • Language Proficiency requiring excellent command of written and spoken English

Professional Experience:

  • Customer Success focus to prioritize long-term customer goals during deployment

  • Financial Management acumen to analyze project costs, accelerate revenue recognition, and contain operational expense

  • Risk Assessment experience implementing risk mitigation strategies across complex rollouts

  • Stakeholder Collaboration experience communicating effectively across cross-functional teams and senior leaders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Domain knowledge of Police, Fire, or EMS operational workflows

  • Experience with Call Works is preferred.

  • Public Safety management is preferred.

  • PMP certification is preferred.

Target Base Salary Range: $100,000 - $110,000 USD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
