This is a 100% commissioned role. There is no limit to the earnings potential in this role; candidates have the flexibility to manage their book and be compensated on what they produce. Commissions will be paid as a bi-weekly draw against commissions earned and reconciled annually. To help new employees while they build their book, they may receive a guaranteed draw for a specified timeframe.

Commissions will be paid based on new business sales, policy renewals and a growth bonus on the book.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Account Executive to join our growing Commercial team!

In this role you will be responsible for sales, prospecting, and servicing a commercial lines book of business. You will develop and maintain a meaningful list of prospective customers, close sales in the commercial area, and provide excellent and timely customer service. This would include acting as a liaison between the customer and the insurance carrier when there may be claims.

This hybrid position is available at any of our offices in the Southern Alberta region. Please note that the role requires travel in and out of town.

What you'll do here:

  • Sell commercial insurance policies, develop and maintain a prospect list

  • Build and maintain excellent customer relationships, including visiting customer sites and supporting customers with the claims process

  • Keep abreast of market knowledge, products, and pricing issues and opportunities

  • Prepare proposals, and arrange for account placement with the insurance carriers

  • Gather and document relevant information to ensure the customer receives the appropriate coverage's and service

  • Maintain good quality in the book of business by adhering to underwriting rules and good business practices

  • Arrange payment terms for new business sales and the timely collection of payments

What you bring to the table:

  • Minimum of 5 years' commercial P&C insurance sales experience

  • Valid Alberta Driver's License

  • AIC Level I or 2 General Insurance License

  • Ideally have one or more of CIP, FCIP, CAIB or CCIB

  • Exposure to Epic is an asset & Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities successfully

  • Excellent customer service and sales skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
