Job description

Position Overview:
Southeast Connections, LLC, provides inclusive infrastructure solutions for the natural gas industry. We construct the systems and facilities to transport the nation's cleanest burning energy resource. Southeast Connections offers complete construction services that include pipeline construction, installation, maintenance, repairs, stations, facility modification and new construction. From Senior Management to the "boots on the ground", Southeast Connections, LLC is dedicated & determined to remain the industry leader and earn continued respect from clients through our professionalism.
The Welder is responsible for performing welding tasks essential to the installation, maintenance, and repair of natural gas pipelines. This role involves operating welding equipment, striking arcs to fuse metal components, and ensuring the structural integrity of pipelines. Work may be conducted in the field or within a shop environment, adhering to industry safety and quality standards.
Essential Functions:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
• Perform welding operations for the installation, maintenance, and repair of natural gas pipelines.
• Operate torches, power supplies, and welding equipment to fuse metal components securely.
• Strike arcs by touching electrodes to metal surfaces, completing electrical circuits.
• Assist in pipeline construction, repair, and integrity maintenance.
• Work in various environments, including job sites and fabrication shops.
• Must be able to pass pipe welding test for various gas companies, conforming with ASME certification requirements.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety protocols, and quality standards.
Qualifications/Special Knowledge Skills:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient knowledge of gas installation techniques and industry standards.
• Exhibits ability to think practically and creatively to implement the best safety practices.
• Responds quickly and efficiently to emergency situations while remaining calm in a crisis
Education/Experience:
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• OQ (Operator Qualification) certification in pipeline welding.
• Three (3) years of welding experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. The employee is often required to stand, walk, and use hands/fingers.
• Able and willing to work long hours including day, night, and weekend shifts as needed, and work outside of normal hours.
• Able to walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Able to climb a minimum of 5 rungs of an extension ladder.
• Ability to travel to project sites that are typically within a 4-hour radius of the home office.
• Able to work in outside environments being subjected to weather changes, noise, vibrations, and job hazards
