Job description


Job Summary
The distributor operator ensures safety and operates various equipment including a distributor, rollers, power broom, tamps, and bobcat. Responsibilities include shoveling asphalt, general cleanup, maintaining records of material/equipment usage, performing daily maintenance checks, reporting issues, and minor repairs. Requires a Class B CDL with tank endorsement and the ability to work extended hours in various weather conditions and loud environments.
Essential Functions
• Operate and maintain asphalt distributor truck, ensuring proper application rates and consistent coverage.
• Calibrate and adjust spray bar settings for various asphalt mixes and job specifications.
• Communicate effectively with paving crew members to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Monitor and manage asphalt material levels in the distributor truck.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating the truck on public roadways and job sites.

Responsibilities
Education
• A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Class B CDL with tank endorsement is required.
Experience
• Paving experience is preferred.

• Ability to understand and interpret plans, specifications, and safety guidelines.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Other Requirements
• Must be able to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands.
• Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
