Job description

Job Summary

Avail Staffing is seeking experienced Sound DampeningTile Installers to support work aboard naval vessels in the Hampton Roadsarea. Candidates will be responsible for installing acoustic/sound dampeningtiles and related insulation materials in accordance with shipyardspecifications, blueprints, and NAVSEA standards.  All levels of experience with SDT areencouraged to apply.  Pay rate is commensurate with experience level.

Responsibilities

  • Install sound dampening/acoustic tiles and insulation systems aboard naval vessels
  • Measure, cut, fit, and secure materials to bulkheads, overheads, and deck surfaces
  • Prepare surfaces for installation by cleaning, grinding, or applying adhesives as required
  • Ensure all installations meet NAVSEA and shipyard quality standards
  • Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas onboard vessels
  • Follow all PPE, confined space, and shipyard safety protocols

Qualifications

  • Previous experience installing sound dampening/acoustic tiles in marine, shipyard, or industrial environments preferred
  • Experience with adhesives, insulation materials, and cutting/layout tools
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces, heights, and aboard ships
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding environments
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
