Position Summary:
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for delivering comprehensive Human Resources related programs, support and services. The Human Resources Manager must maintain current knowledge of legal requirements, be able to resolve complex Human Resources issues, analyze trends and metrics to develop solutions, consult with site leadership and provide overall Human Resources guidance and support. Responsibilities will include recruitment, developing and implementing retention strategies, employee relations, Workers' Compensation and FMLA administration, new hire orientation, performance management, site communications, and training as well as some administrative functions. Direct reports include a Human Resources Coordinator and a Payroll Coordinator.
*This is a full-time onsite role located at our Springfield, MO facility*
Responsibilities:
  • Support and facilitate the recruitment process from headcount approval to induction. Note: ABEC is experiencing tremendous growth and recruitment is currently the primary focus for the HR Team.
  • Responsible for all on-site HR systems, policies, procedures, and support administration.
  • Partner with Global HR and site leadership teams to implement HR best practices.
  • Provide administrative support for the company benefits systems and assist in the development of these benefits.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all policies, procedures, and practices are compliant regarding Employment Laws available to all employees and managers.
  • Provide guidance and support on the selection and implementation of Learning and Development (L&D) programs.
  • Responsible for working with L&D to establish and implement L&D strategy and training plans.
  • Provide guidance and support on the selection and implementation of Training & Development Programs.
  • Take a leadership role in building and maintaining a great company culture.
  • Take a pro-active role in ensuring employee needs are addressed.
  • Provide support to the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) function on site as needed to ensure legal obligations are met and a safety driven culture is maintained.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Proactive management of employee relations issues.
  • Execute other tasks as assigned.
  • Ability to travel when required.
  • Will play an active role in identifying and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunity.

Requirements
  • 6 years general Human Resources experience, with a minimum of 2 years as a Human Resource Manager or Human Resources Business Partner.
  • Experience leading and developing direct reports.
  • Prior industrial relations experience.
  • A background in manufacturing preferred.
  • A confident self-starter with the ability to work on their own initiative.
  • Sound knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Excellent organization, relationship building and influencing skills.
  • Technical proficiency including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications & HRIS (Paylocity experience a plus).
  • Payroll experience a plus.
  • Awareness of and prior experience with implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) a plus.
  • Prior Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus
