Junior Video Editor

Department: Creative (9Rooftops Studio)
Reports To: Senior Video Producer
Location: Hilton Head

Position Summary

The Junior Video Editor is responsible for editing engaging video content for 9Rooftops and our clients across digital, social, and marketing channels. This role supports all phases of the post-production process, working closely with producers, creative teams, and designers to create compelling content optimized for today's social platforms. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and passionate about storytelling through video.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Edit short-form and long-form video content for social media, digital campaigns, websites, and client marketing initiatives.
  • Create basic motion graphics, titles, captions, and animations using Adobe After Effects.
  • Format and optimize content for platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging social channels.
  • Assist with organizing, ingesting, and managing raw footage and project assets.
  • Select and assemble footage to tell compelling stories while maintaining brand standards.
  • Edit audio, music, and sound effects to produce polished final videos.
  • Collaborate with producers, creative directors, designers, and account teams to execute creative concepts.
  • Stay current on social media trends, platform specifications, and video best practices.
  • Source stock footage, music, and graphics as needed.
  • Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced agency environment.
  • Participate in creative brainstorming and contribute ideas for social-first content.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Film, Video Production, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1-3 years of professional video editing experience (agency experience is a plus).
  • Experience creating content for social media platforms.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Understanding of video codecs, compression, exporting, and platform specifications.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to receive feedback and continuously improve creative work.
  • Experience operating in a Mac environment preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
