Job description

Video Editor โ€” Short-Form, Long-Form & Branded Content
Weโ€™re hiring a sharp, self-driven video editor to help us turn raw footage into scroll-stopping content across YouTube, Reels, TikTok, and brand campaigns.
Role: Video Editor
Engagement: Full-time or part timeย  (open to either for the right person)
Location: Onsite Sacramento, CA
Compensation: Competitive, based on experience
Start date: ASAP
About the role
Youโ€™ll own the edit from raw footage to final export โ€” cutting short-form content for social, long-form videos for YouTube and podcasts, and polished promo and ad creative for marketing campaigns.
This isnโ€™t a button-pushing role. We want an editor with strong instincts for pacing, story, and what makes a viewer stop scrolling. Youโ€™ll work closely with our team on creative direction, but youโ€™ll have a real say in how the work comes together.
What youโ€™ll do:
  • Edit short-form vertical content for Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts โ€” fast cuts, captions, hooks that earn the watch time.
  • Edit long-form videos for YouTube and podcast content โ€” narrative pacing, B-roll, multi-cam syncing, and clean audio.
  • Cut marketing, promo, and ad creative โ€” brand videos, product spots, paid social ads, and launch content.
  • Add motion graphics, lower thirds, captions, sound design, and color where needed.
  • Manage your own project files, exports, and version control. Keep the workflow tight.
  • Collaborate on creative direction โ€” bring ideas, flag whatโ€™s not working, suggest what would.

What weโ€™re looking for:
  • 2+ years editing experience with a portfolio that shows range across short-form, long-form, and branded work.
  • Fluency in Adobe Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve. After Effects is a strong plus.
  • A clear sense of pacing and storytelling โ€” you know when to cut and when to let a moment breathe.
  • Comfort with captions, motion graphics, sound mixing, and basic color correction.
  • Strong communication and the ability to take direction, give pushback, and hit deadlines without being chased.
  • Bonus: shooting experience, thumbnail design, or background editing for creator/brand channels.

Nice to have:
  • Experience editing for a YouTube channel or brand with a defined voice.
  • Familiarity with platform-native trends (TikTok, Reels) without being a slave to them.
  • Your own opinions about what makes a great cut โ€” we want a collaborator, not a vendor.

How to apply:
Send the following to be considered:
  • A short note about who you are and what kind of work you love editing.
  • A link to your reel or 2โ€“3 sample edits that best represent your range.

Your rate or salary expectations and availability.
We review applications on a rolling basis and reply to everyone we move forward with. Applicants without a reel or sample work will not be considered.
Weโ€™re an equal opportunity employer and welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
