What You'll Do:
  • Design PCB layouts by placing and routing components while meeting electrical, mechanical, and physical design requirements.
  • Ensure PCB designs comply with manufacturing and assembly requirements.
  • Create and maintain drawings and documentation to support PCB fabrication and CCA assembly.
  • Update and rework PCB designs in response to engineering changes, collaborating with the wider design team to resolve issues.
  • Develop ECAD library footprints and schematic symbols as required for design projects.

What You'll Bring:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Min 7 years of experience in circuit board design processes, including requirements generation, preliminary design (block diagram generation, long lead part identification), detailed design (schematic generation, simulation, place & route), test plan generation, and integration & test.
  • Min 10 years of experience in operating electronics laboratory equipment including: digital multimeters, oscilloscopes (DSO, mixed-signal), signal generators, DC power supplies.
  • Min 13 years of experience in electrical engineering.
 
What Sets You Apart:
  • Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • IPC CID certification.
  • Multiple years of experience in PCB design or a combination of education, training, and experience in PCB design.
  • Competent skills and experience with ECAD software applications and related equipment. 
  • Specific experience with Siemens (formerly Mentor Graphics) Xpedition software.
  • Competent experience and knowledge of PCB design technologies, PCB layout techniques, electrical schematics, PCB fabrication and assembly drawings.
  • Practical knowledge of industry standards, such as IPC for design (including design for manufacturability) and ASME/ANSI for documentation. 
  • Specific relevant IPC standards include IPC-2221, IPC-2222, IPC-6012, IPC-A-600, and IPC-A-610.
  • IT experience to help with backend management and maintenance of ECAD tools such as Siemens Xpedition and EDM.
  • Experience leading teams to design and debug Digital CCAs (Technical, Cost, & Schedule).
  • Experience with signal integrity analysis tools (HyperLynx).
  • Experience with Mentor Graphics Xpedition tool suite.
  • Experience with high-speed serial protocols.
  • 10/25 Gb Ethernet, PCI Express Gen 2/3, Fibre Channel, among other high-speed standards.
  • Experience with high-speed memory interfaces.
  • Ability to lead teams through conflict, clarify objectives, and develop consensus/buy-in.
  • Experience integrating with firmware/software and leading lab integration activities.
  • Experience with testing and qualification of the deliverable system.
  • Excellent communication skills.
