WD Inserting Supervisor
Job Summary
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for directing all aspects of production during the assigned shift. This role ensures overall efficiency, productivity, and quality while overseeing daily operations within the inserting department.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversee all production activities to ensure work is completed accurately and on time.
  • Perform quality control checks throughout the production process.
  • Provide support to maximize team productivity and efficiency.
  • Record and report production data and performance metrics.
  • Ensure overall efficiency and productivity of the inserting department.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and operate machinery as needed.
  • Train employees on equipment operation and production processes.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Experience operating WD Printing Machines and inserting equipment.
  • Ability to run and troubleshoot Flowmaster and Phillipburg inserters.
  • General understanding of USPS regulations, mail sortation, and postage requirements.
  • Strong communication and computer skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and remain self-motivated.
  • Ability to perform effectively under time constraints.
  • Strong leadership, motivational, and directional skills.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and occasionally more.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, with frequent bending, twisting, and pulling.
  • Flexibility with work schedule as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Directly supervise production employees.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include:

  • Planning, assigning, and directing work
  • Evaluating performance
  • Addressing complaints and resolving issues
  • Supporting disciplinary and recognition processes

Qualifications
  • To perform this role successfully, candidates must meet the following requirements:
  • Ability to set up, operate, and troubleshoot Flowmaster and Phillipburg inserters.
  • Strong understanding of production processes and equipment.
  • Ability to perform all essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 years of related production or supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
