Job description

Logistics And Warehouse Position

Responsible for moving product. A lift operator at United Natural Foods is required to have a strong understanding of his/her lift, the loads he/she is carrying, productivity measures and safety procedures.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties:

· Attends start up meeting at beginning of shift, receives assignments and completes vehicle inspection sheet.

· Only operate equipment that you are certified to operate.

· Follow preferred methods.

· Replenishes pick slots using the WTD screen or labels. If no request exist, use the manual replenish screen to fill empty or almost empty slots. If no work is available, see Supervisor.

· Replenishes call outs from selectors.

· Clear receiving dock.

· Notates any discrepancies in inventory and gives to IC or Supervisors.

· Cuts and removes plastic from pallets as required in preferred methods.

· Verifies correct product is placed in home slots.

· Removes empty pallets from location and take to pallet sortation area, as outlined in preferred methods.

· Keeps area clean and debris out of work area, remove damage and take to damage area.

· Operates the lift in a safe and efficient manner.

· Parks and recharges lift in its appropriate spot at the end of the shift.

· Immediately informs a supervisor, or manager of any potential safety violations or violation of company policy.

· Perform duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location.

· Must learn 3 jobs and go where work is assigned daily

Performance Measurements:

· Operating a lift in accordance with Company standards and procedures, including quality standards and safety regulations.

· Effective communication and coordination exist with Company personnel and with management. Assistance and support are provided as needed.

· Deadlines are met.

Qualifications:

Required Knowledge:

· Understanding of Safety guidelines, knowledge of RF systems

Experience Required:

· Warehouse/Operations preferred but not required

Skills/Abilities:

· Have an understanding of procedures in other areas of the warehouse for a more global understanding of all processes.

· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions and to deal with ordinary, standardized situations.

· Ability to perform very basic math skills including adding; subtracting, multiplying, and dividing two digit numbers; the four basic arithmetic operations.

· Able to read and communicate in English.

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. UNFI is committed to transparency in pay in compliance with applicable state/provincial and local laws.

Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate's first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI's commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
