Job description

The Sort Associate plays a critical role in last-mile delivery network. You will be responsible for scanning, sorting, and staging packages in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Your accuracy ensures that local delivery drivers can load their vehicles quickly and hit the road on time.

Key Responsibilities

Unload Freight: Receive incoming package shipments from linehaul trucks.

Scan Inventory: Use handheld RF scanners to check in packages and update tracking systems.

Sort Packages: Organize parcels rapidly by zip code, route, and delivery zone.

Stage Routing: Place sorted packages into designated bins, pallets, or driver staging areas.

Maintain Safety: Keep walkways, loading docks, and sorting zones clean and hazard-free.

Physical Requirements:

  • Heavy Lifting: Ability to lift, push, and pull packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Extended Standing: Capability to stand and walk on concrete floors for 4 to 8 hours per shift.
  • Mobility: Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, and twisting.

When working in a warehouse environment through Bluecrew, you may be expected to do any and all of the following:

  • Working independently or in a team to pick, pack, and ship items
  • Safely relocating or repacking inventory items as directed, up to 50 pounds in weight
  • Operating machinery or other light equipment as trained in a safe and responsible manner
  • Reaching, crouching, bending over, and other physically strenuous activities as required by the immediate supervisor
  • Working on your feet at a fast pace for the entirety of the shift
  • Comfortable working in an environment where there are forklifts, machinery, large trucks, and other standard or sub-standard warehouse equipment
  • There may be a specific dress code, but if it is not listed, please make sure to wear close-toed shoes and pants.
