Wieland is hiring a Turret Lathe Operator. The Turret Lathe Operator is responsible for operating turret lathe equipment to produce quality parts in accordance with production schedules, engineering specifications, and safety standards. This role ensures efficient machine operation, performs routine quality inspections, maintains a clean and organized work area, and supports overall manufacturing and warehouse operations as needed to meet business objectives.

This role is located in Kilgore, TX and will be fully on-site. 

Starting Pay: $19.00-$20.00

Schedule: 5AM – 3PM; Monday – Thursday; Friday if needed

Pay Schedule: Bi-Weekly


Turret Lathe Operator Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain a safe, organized, and clean working environment
  • Responsible for the set-up, process, and maintenance of Turret Lathe
  • Take rough castings from the foundry and process with machinery
  • Operate machinery in a safe manner to ensure quality product
  • Inspect material before and after operation for imperfections
  • Load and unload product from the machinery for processing
  • Assemble, rebuild, setup, maintain, and operate equipment such as cranes, forklifts, hand tools, etc.
  • Inspect inventory and product orders for accuracy
  • Report product discrepancies to management
  • Perform all applicable SOP’s, JSA’s, and QAP’s
  • Actively communicate with teammates
  • Operate forklifts to move material
  • Other Operations tasks as assigned

Turret Lathe Operator Qualifications:

  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail (critical skill)
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers, coworkers and management
  • Ability to work as part of a team and offer assistance to teammates when necessary
  • Ability to work occasional Saturday hours as required by the position
  • Ability to work in warehouse environment with varying temperatures
  • Ability to read dimensioned engineering drawings
  • Ability to read a tape measure and calipers
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Understanding of manufacturing industries (preferred)
  • Experience in foundry/casting industry (preferred)
