Job description

The Solutions Engineer provides technical product support to Wind River Payment's (WRP) integrated SaaS partners, clients prospective clients. Primary responsibilities include understanding and explaining product features and functionality, identifying and providing solutions for customer product needs, consulting on product development, and participating in sales meetings and presentations with both prospective and existing ISV partners. This role requires deep technical knowledge of WRP's current product capabilities and plans for future development, with a sales mindset, aptitude, and skill set.
Essential Functions
Presale
  • Actively participates in discovery and pre-sale conversations to understand and document prospective partner requirements and needs in order to identify solutions.
  • Provide technical integration support for new prospects including blending both payment operational knowledge and general API knowledge.
  • Prepare and present technical product information on sales calls (technical product/API overview/Workflows)
  • Collaborate with internal and external engineers, designers, suppliers and customers to develop product requirements and specifications.
  • Create Sandbox Accounts.
  • Demo VT/Partner Portal to support development efforts.
  • Complete potential requirements document (and have active role in the solution review).
  • Build technical knowledge and expertise of WRP's products and services.

ISV Partner Implementation
  • Play an active and coordinating role in ISV partner implementation. Lead new partners through their integration efforts toward and in the implementation of the initial merchant for each new ISV partner.
  • Act as liaison between WRP departments to board new ISV partners recording and disseminating important cross functional information related to the integration to provide industry leading support.
  • Work with ISV developers to answer technical API related questions.
  • Work with Operations department to review transaction data and provide feedback to the ISV partner related to Card Brand interchange rate qualifications.
  • Troubleshoot and coordinate efforts to correct if/when any points of failure occur.
  • Review and test use case script to ensure all ISV requirements are met.

Ongoing Support
  • Take initiative to solve problems and identify workable solutions.
  • Collaborate with Support team to provide technical product support and solutions in completing ISV partner projects, especially involving product enhancements or adding new feature/functionality.
  • Serve as internal resource to provide support for sales team on pre-sales calls.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with ISV partners and product vendors.
  • Stay current on new or enhanced products, and how they impact prospective or current ISV customers.
  • Serve as internal resource for merchant Experience team and other departments to support merchant troubleshooting.
  • Research emerging features with gateway partners, then present information to the sales team to take advantage of new features.
  • Create support tickets with our gateway partners and track issues to resolution.
  • Create feature enhancement requests with monetary value estimates and user stories.
  • Assist the Merchant Experience team with API and complex integrations.
  • Provide expert guidance to merchants who are leveraging complex integrations, including hosted pay pages and shopping carts.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, engineering/development, or related field.
  • 3+ years of product sales engineer experience, preferably within a software company.
  • Knowledge of software integration and related technology and understanding of the needs of customers who develop software.
  • Hands-on experience with API integrations in the payments or financial services industry.
  • Ability to develop, script and understand code around API integration.
  • Experience with Office 365.
  • Ability to work in an office setting using a computer and phone.
  • Ability to work in the United States now and in the future without sponsorship.
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the role with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the payments industry.
  • Experience with Salesforce.
  • Project management experience - Knowledgeable in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
