Job description

At Ensono, our Purpose is to be a relentless ally, disrupting the status quo and unleashing our clients to Do Great Things! We enable our clients to achieve key business outcomes that reshape how our world runs. As an expert technology adviser and managed service provider with cross-platform certifications, Ensono empowers our clients to keep up with continuous change and embrace innovation.
We can Do Great Things because we have great Associates. The Ensono Core Values unify our diverse talents and are woven into how we do business. These five traits are the key to achieving our purpose:
Honesty, Reliability, Curiosity, Collaboration, and Passion.
What We Do: Deliver end-to-end migration, infrastructure, and application support services. We lead the migration of business applications to AWS, Microsoft Azure public clouds, and strategic data centers, providing end-to-end support and collaborating closely with client application teams during transition to minimize business disruption.
We are seeking Expert Solution Architects to join our Solution Design team. This role is responsible for designing, leading, and governing the technical migration of workloads to cloud environments, providing end-to-end architecture leadership across discovery, migration, modernization, and stabilization, ensuring outcomes are aligned to business objectives.
PLEASE NOTE: We are looking for multiple Architects with either infrastructure or Application as the focus. The requirements below reflect these 2 different areas.
Key Responsibilities:
Target State Architecture & Solution Design
  • Develop Target State Architecture (TSA) design and migration strategy by identifying applications and defining the target state solution to support migration workstreams, conducting application discovery and dependency mapping, developing application lists and migration waves, defining target-state architecture aligned with security, compliance, and governance, and developing high-level migration roadmaps.
  • Create blueprints for target environments including a bill of materials containing hosting assets and configuration details. The TSA Document will include a logical and physical network layout showing the relationship of hosts to LAN, WAN, and cloud/target environment.

Architecture Consultation & Migration Planning
  • Analyze data collection, refine Workstream Migration Plans, and optimize communication among stakeholders. Provide services including migration planning and execution, architecture consultation, application and data migration, disaster recovery infrastructure configuration, connectivity to AWS/Azure services, database migration, server buildout, network configuration, and integration into Active Directory.
  • Conduct and validate discovery and assessment information; facilitate application and technical workshops with stakeholders; review target architectures, migration strategies, and project plans; and develop detailed migration strategies, wave plans, and runbooks.

Cloud Architecture & Platform Services
  • Assess current architecture and map components to AWS/Azure IaaS services such as EC2/AMI, ExaData/SQL MI, Service Bus, and managed storage. Deploy and configure infrastructure aligned to client standards. Perform mandatory OS platform upgrades, changes, and re-platforming to meet minimum security standards. Provision all IaaS services using Harness, Terraform/CloudFormation/Bicep.
  • Assess current architecture and map components to AWS/Azure PaaS services such as App Services, Functions, API Gateway, RDS/Azure SQL, Service Bus and managed storage. Make required code updates, configuration adjustments, connection string changes, and environment variable updates needed for compatibility with cloud PaaS services. Provision all PaaS services using Terraform/CloudFormation/Bicep.

Governance & Technical Oversight
  • Participate in governance and review boards, ensuring technical oversight and troubleshooting throughout the migration process.
  • Develop migration strategy that includes wave planning, Target State Architecture Document, Migration Runbooks and Cutover Plans, technical governance, infrastructure testing, detailed cutover planning, and post-migration Hypercare support.

Security & Compliance
  • Perform and coordinate vulnerability scanning, authentication/authorization testing, and data security testing.
  • Implement security controls, base tagging for FinOps, monitoring dashboards, and updating runbooks and DR plans. Deploy private cloud-based PaaS OS instances with minimal changes using pre-existing automated deployment methods.

Cutover & Post-Migration Support
  • Own migration planning, parallel runs, cutover execution, rollback planning, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Migrate databases and file systems to managed PaaS platforms with schema prep, data migration, reconciliation, and validation. Containerize applications "as-is" and deploy to managed container platforms (ECS/EKS/AKS/App Service Containers) without code changes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
Technical Expertise
