Job description

Solution Architecture Manager Location: Remote (Michigan) Salary: $160K–$170K Overview Seeking a Solution Architecture Manager – API & Solution Architecture to lead a distributed team designing APIs and integrating platforms across domains like policy, customer service, and document management. This senior role combines leadership and governance to deliver scalable, secure solutions. With 10+ years in software engineering / architecture and 3+ years in leadership, you’ll set strategy, coach architects, oversee design reviews, and maintain solution artifacts while driving collaboration and platform direction.

Must Haves 10+ years of technical hands-on experience for API design and platform integration. 3+ years proven managerial experience leading engineers and/or architects; ability to guide design decisions and own architecture review/sign-off. Ability to articulate service longevity, utilization, and scalability of prior solutions.

Nice to Have Startup + enterprise experience; regulated industry background (insurance preferred). Familiarity with domains like policy, claims, underwriting, forms / doc mgmt. Technical breadth: C#, TypeScript, Terraform, REST/RPC / GraphQL, messaging, OAuth2 / OIDC / SAML, observability, cloud / container deployments.

Responsibilities Set vision and quarterly plans; communicate roadmap and outcomes. Govern architecture quality; lead design reviews and maintain solution artifacts. Hire, onboard, and develop architect team; manage performance and growth.

Drive cross-team collaboration and ensure operational excellence. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
