Job description

Senior AWS Windows Engineer
San Antonio, TX (Hybrid)
6-Month Contract to Hire
We're assisting a client, a prestigious and large investment management company, in their search for a Senior AWS Windows Engineer. This is a 6-month contract to hire opportunity based out of San Antonio, TX (Hybrid).
Qualifications:

  • 10+ years' experience supporting Windows server administration.
  • 4+ years of experience in AWS, Terraform, Ansible/Chef/Puppet.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and PowerShell.
  • Good understanding of administration, configuration, maintenance, and operational support of Windows systems.
  • Experience maintaining security, and emergency patching/fixes.
  • Experience in automating common operational support processes using Ansible, Terraform, Python, and PowerShell.
  • DevOps mindset with vast experience in scripting and development that helps translate from new projects to Operations.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, and F5 Big IP Load balancers.
  • Demonstrated experience in the administration of Dell EMC PowerEdge servers.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows 2016 and 2019 servers.
  • Prior experience with the creation and deployment of new Microsoft Windows Server operating systems, with both On-Prem and AWS-based infrastructures.
  • Monitor the health of all servers and infrastructure components; perform break troubleshooting and periodic preventive maintenance.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with multiple teams, and both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong Written/Verbal communication who can deal with customers on a daily basis.

Must have:

  • Advanced working experience in AWS

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the maintenance and support of Compute infrastructure, including vulnerability remediation, configuration management, capacity management, and provisioning.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Dell EMC PowerEdge servers.
  • Configure, administer, tune, and optimize AWS workload.
  • Serves as technical subject matter expert for the resolution of issues related to Compute infrastructure including on-prem and cloud servers, and associated components.
  • Troubleshoot issues, capture, and analyze system-level logs/dumps, and collaborate with vendors as needed according to incident/problem management processes.
  • Handle common services including security vulnerability remediation, performance issues, backup, recovery, licensing, upgrades, and standard operating procedures.
  • Develop and implement automation solutions for common operational support processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Lead and participate in performance tests; identify bottlenecks, opportunities for optimization, and capacity demands.
  • Play an active role in Enterprise Service Management including incidents, service requests, and change management requests related to Windows and AWS.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to solve problems and deliver solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with the Offshore and Onshore team.
  • Focal point of contact between the Customer and Solugenix team on technical/Solution discussions.
