Description

The primary role of the EHS Site Manager is to provide environmental, health, and safety (EHS) technical support as a resource for CentroMotion's (Carlisle Brake & Friction) Medina, OH, and Solon, OH facilities. The EHS Manager will partner with site leadership to provide leadership, strategy, development, implementation, and oversight of world-class occupational health and safety and environmental initiatives.


This position is based on-site at CentroMotion's facility in Medina, OH where it will be directly responsible for all day-to-day EHS-related activities on-site. In addition, this position is responsible for supporting the Solon, OH, site and its day-to-day responsibilities. These responsibilities include but are not limited to ensuring the company's environmental, health, and safety programs meet or exceed federal and local regulatory compliance; auditing operations to ensure consistency with written EHS programs; ensuring thorough incident investigations and corrective actions are implemented; and providing Emergency Response training.


This position will administer and oversee various compliance programs, procedures, and policies associated with federal, state, and local regulations and act as a liaison with internal/external legal and regulatory personnel and agencies as directed by the Regional EHS Manager.

Requirements

Create, implement, and improve the plant's future state EHS management system. Support behavior-based safety programs and processes.

Incorporate new EHS regulations, directives, and standards into the plant's management systems. Conduct regular internal EHS auditing to ensure compliance, including follow-up on incident/accident investigations through the internal EHS system, corporate audit, and compliance inspection actions.

Interact with the production and maintenance team to ensure policies and procedures are followed. Train, audit, instruct, and correct where necessary.

Chair, conduct, and report on the actions of the Plant Safety Committee.

Prepare and execute the necessary air, water, and solid waste management activities, reporting, and permit requirements.

Ensure training compliance with managing and coordinating EHS training for the entire facility.

Ensure that Federal, State, and local EHS laws, regulations, codes, and rules are followed.

Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, QC Laboratory, Sourcing, and Engineering to institute EHS controls and remedial measures to reduce risk due to EHS conditions, behaviors, procedures, or equipment.

Develop and maintain safety, environmental, and industrial hygiene programs, including PPE and ergonomic assessments.

Create ways to keep workers, contractors, and visitors safe from harm by working with peers to identify and resolve unsafe acts and conditions.

Inspect machines for safety devices, Energy Isolation (Lockout/Tagout) and guarding compliance.

Evaluate current and future equipment, products, facilities, or processes and those planned for future use through a Management of Change process.

Utilize and enhance corporate programs identifying, eliminating, and mitigating hazards found on site.

Review injury data to identify trends and implement programs and practices to address identified hazards.

Documentation/Records Management - Capturing, storing, and maintaining information in written or electronic form as required by policy/regulations.

Evaluate the probability and severity of accidents-risk assessments. Provide specialized technical advice and support on all aspects of tool design, machining, manufacturing, and estimating.

Engage site leadership in making decisions and solving problems. Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems. Knowledge of Six Sigma/LEAN is a plus.

Communicate with People Outside the Organization-Communicating with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, the government, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail.

Ensure compliance with Environmental policies, regulations, programs, and procedures, including Hazardous Waste Management, Air Emissions Calculations, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, and Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures

Performs other duties as assigned

Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health, Safety, or a related technical field is preferred.


Experience and Training:

Six (6) to Ten (10) years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Equivalency may be considered with a minimum of six years of relevant experience.

Excellent verbal, written, and oral presentation skills required in English, with Spanish proficiency preferred.

Additional certifications and training in Safety, Environmental Compliance, and related fields are highly desired.

Knowledge of ISO 14001 and 45001 Management Systems

Competence in the preparation of technical documentation

Proven EHS background (ideally supported by environmental experience)

Team and Relationship building

Demonstrated ability to identify and assist with the development of others

The ability to engage and influence leaders with appropriate business acumen is highly desired.

CSHO, CHST, OHST, ASP, or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) desired

Experience with Combustible Dust or Process Safety Management is desired

Licenses/Certificates: CPR/ First Aid Certification desired, or be able to obtain certification within 90 days of hire

Technology/Equipment: Strong Competency with Microsoft Office Tools
