Hours: PRN/ As Needed (16 hrs/wk)
Hourly Rate: $45.00 to $55.00 commensurate with experience
If you would like to join a dynamic team dedicated to best-in-class quality and service excellence, we would like to speak with you. Performs imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injuries and supports the general operation of the office.
The Mammography Technologist operates x-ray equipment and performs a variety of mammography-related diagnostic procedures. Individual must maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique. This position is critical to Washington Radiology; by providing outstanding care and efficient results, the technologist impacts the profitability of the organization as well as the patient experience.
A Day in the Life of a Mammography Technologist:
  • Understands, promotes and demonstrates the Solis Way
  • Consistently practices excellent mammography positioning and exposure technique;
  • Ability to effectively communicate to patients the procedures and educate women about the role of regular mammography in preventative breast health;
  • Ability to effectively communicate on an individual and small group basis to doctors, patients, and other employees;
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes complicated, written or oral instructions;
  • Must maintain patient-first focus at all times and exhibit outstanding customer service skills;
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Here is what you will need:
  • Completion of a formal radiologic technology training program and hold current certification by ARRT in Radiography;
  • ARRT advanced level certification in mammography with documentation of clinical experience, or MQSA qualified and (M) registry eligible;
  • Current on all required continuing education and continuing experience as required by MQSA and ARRT;
  • High School Diploma; Associates degree preferred;
  • Must possess non-restricted licensure in state work location;
  • Knowledge of database software, RIS/PACS software is preferred;
  • Two years of experience in mammography is preferred;
  • Experience with diagnostic procedures such as ultrasound core and stereotactic biopsies is preferred;
  • Prior quality control experience preferred;
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology;
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
